Along with other data, information from the tests informs strategies and interventions aimed at supporting learners across a range of achievement and need. These results help teachers identify starting points for learning, target teaching and monitor growth.

The College uses an instrument called the Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) in numeracy and reading. In each case, the test content is personalised to each student. These online, multiple-choice tests typically take less than an hour to complete. They will be administered in student’s academic class groups.
