Year 7 News

Year 7 experienced their first carnival and demonstrated a very high level of participation. Of particular note were the Year 7 points scramble and Big Sister/ Little Sister points scramble. We have some excellent swimmers in the year group and it was wonderful to watch girls like Bianca R and Layla E compete very strongly, while also watching the non-competitive swimmers get in and get involved.

Below are a few words from Bianca, outlining her experience of the day:

“My morning started off with a stomach full of butterflies because I was nervous, it was my first St Pat’s swimming carnival. I really enjoyed seeing everyone dressed in their house colours and chant for their house. I had a great carnival and did well in all my events, but I especially enjoyed the Big Sister/ Little Sister race and the points scramble. Overall, I had a great day and can’t wait for the next carnival”.

Year 7 continue to adjust well to the College and it is pleasing to see their commitment and involvement developing with each week. As the term progresses, the students will be undertaking their first round of assessments. Combined with homework, this can be a difficult time. Please be mindful of the amount of time your daughter is spending on her homework and assessments and if you have any concerns, please let me know.
