Year 7 Focus on "What it means to be Catholic"

During this term in Religion, Year 7 have been focusing on the topic 'What it Means To Be Catholic'. This topic is about what Catholics believe in, what special events they celebrate and the traditions they partake in.

We were recently given the task to create a show bag on a special event/person/celebration in the Catholic calendar, including Canonisation, Papal elections, Sacraments, Mary Mackillop etc . Our showbags had to include a number of promotional items about our given topic and we had to justify why we made them and what they represented. There were some amazing and creative products that varied from cookies to t-shirts.

When we viewed the displays we recorded on Post-it notes what we liked about the showbag and what things we thought the group could have included. Each group then read their Post-it note feedback and wrote a report about their gained knowledge and understanding. I learnt so much more about Catholicism and really enjoyed this task.
